Iowa Pork Youth Team participants can earn points for participating in pork educational and promotional activities at the local and state level. Points can be redeemed for prizes at the end of the year.
Pork Youth Team members must submit activities on Activity Reporting Forms via mail / fax or
www.iowapork.org. IPPA will record all points submitted.
Almost all pork educational and promotional activities are eligible for points. Here are various activities and their designated points:
Pork Educational Presentations --- Give pork educational presentations to classrooms, youth groups, and community organizations; pork displays in county; submitting pork industry articles to local newspapers; etc. (10 points per activity)
Pork Promotions --- Assist with pork promotional activities at the county level --- help with grocery store promotion; assist with pork promotions at local festivals, county fairs, etc, participate in October Pork Month activities, parades, etc. (10 points per activity)
County Pork Producers Activities --- Assist with county pork producer activities, give presentation to county pork producers at a monthly meeting and/or annual meeting (10 points per activity)
Iowa Sate Fair --- Assist with pork activities at the Iowa State Fair --- Agriculture Building, Farrowing Display, & Iowa Pork Tent (10 points per location worked)
Pork Youth Conference ---- Participate in the Pork Youth Conference (10 points)
Iowa Pork Congress --- Attend and participate in Pork Youth Team activities held at the Iowa Pork Congress in January in Des Moines (10 points)
World Pork Expo --- Attend the World Pork Expo in June in Des Moines (10 points)
IPPA Magazine --- Submit an article regarding PEP activities (10 points)
Swine Project --- Have a swine project in 4-H or FFA (10 points)
