USFRA’s Food Dialogues®:Iowa to be held tomorrow night

The U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance’s regional Food Dialogues series will be held in Ames tomorrow night.
“A Frank Discussion about Food” will be held on Nov. 19 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Scheman Building at Iowa State University. Registration and sign-in will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with heavy hors d’oeuvres available.
Food Dialogues: Iowa will explore the varying opinions of farmers, ranchers and industry leaders to help answer questions consumers have about GMOs, local and organic foods and everything in between.
The following panelists have been confirmed and will participate in the event:
| • Larry Cleverley, Iowa organic farmer|
| • Wayne Humphreys, Iowa crop and livestock farmer|
| • Katie Olthoff, CommonGround volunteer and Iowa turkey farmer|
| • Dr. Wayne Parrott, professor, Department of Crop and Soil Sciences College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, University of Georgia|
| • John Schillinger, Ph.D., crop researcher|
Additional panelists may be added.
Former WHO-TV newsman John Bachman will moderate the discussion.

This is the fourth event in the Food Dialogues series. Successful food discussions have been previously held in Ohio, Missouri and North Carolina.
Food Dialogues: Iowa is being planned in collaboration with the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and the Iowa Corn Growers Association.
