Continuous changes in rules and regulations result in compliance challenges. A series of meetings will be held around the state, sharing information that will update livestock producers on current and emerging livestock regulations.

Eldon McAfee, legal counsel for the Iowa Pork Producers Association, will provide legal and regulatory information in the areas of avoiding nuisance cases, manure management, air quality, construction and compliance audits. The program will also feature a representative from USDA-NRCS who will help farmers begin managing manure with the Phosphorus Index. This will include walking through the P-index program and what information is needed to utilize the P-index.

The environmental update meetings are scheduled for June 8, 9 & 10.
There will be no cost to attend the meetings. See below for specific locations and times.
