2005 Master Seedstock Producers

The Master Seedstock Award is presented annually by the Iowa Purebred Swine Council to recognize outstanding seedstock producers who exemplify integrity, leadership and success in the production and promotion of the purebred swine industry.

Introducing Ron and John Warrick

The Warrick brothers are second generation seedstock producers
from Gowrie and Prairie City, respectively.

Ron has been raising purebred Hampshire's for more than 30 years on his Webster County farm. He's served as president of the Iowa Hampshire Breeders Association since 2000 and is an active member of the Webster County Fair Swine Committee.

John has raised purebred Hampshire's and Duroc's for more than 20 years on his farm in Jasper County. He is a past board member of the Iowa Hampshire Breeders Association.

Ron and John were awarded the Premier Hampshire Exhibitor Award, Premier Duroc Exhibitor and Premier Duroc Sire honors at the 2005 Iowa State Fair.

The Warrick's father, Ernest, was a well-known purebred seedstock breeder.

Ron and John were honored as 2005 Master Seedstock Producers during the
Iowa Pork Congress in Des Moines Jan. 25, 2006.
