Iowa Pork Queen Program

The Iowa Pork Producers Association has been selecting an Iowa Pork Queen and Iowa Pork Princess (runner-up) annually since 1960. The Iowa Pork Queen and Iowa Pork Princess serve as ambassadors for the Iowa Pork Producers Association and assist with pork promotional and educational activities. The Queen and Princess are selected during a competition held during the Iowa Pork Congress held in Des Moines every January. Throughout the year, they assist with pork activities, such as, the Iowa State Fair, World Pork Expo, Pork Youth Conference, and consumer events throughout Iowa and sometimes outside of the state of Iowa.

To become the Iowa Pork Queen or Iowa Pork Princess:
1) Youth must first be selected as a county pork queen by a county pork producer group.
2) Contestants must also be seniors in high school up to age 20 by the time of the contest.
3) Register to compete in the contest with the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) by November 16, 2007. Contact the IPPA at 800-372-7675.
