The Lyon County Pork Producers donated nearly 2500 porkburgers for a Lyon County Fair Foundation fundraising picnic held on the first night of their county fair. During the picnic, the county group was one of the recipients of the first-ever "Friend of the Fair" award for their continued support of the picnic, as well as their efforts in constructing or expanding the livestock barns and their support of the 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors.

Pork producers in Lyon County also teamed up with Sunshine Foods for a "Meet the Farmers Day!," where the county group grilled and served pork loin sandwiches. Sunshine Foods supplied the chips and pop and all proceeds from the lunch were donated to a local non-profit organization.
