Introducing the
2006 Master Seedstock Producer
The Master Seedstock Award is presented annually by the Iowa Purebred Swine Council to recognize outstanding seedstock producers who exemplify integrity, leadership and success in the production and promotion of the purebred swine industry.

Introducing Kay Christian

Kay Christian of Woodward has been raising purebred Duroc and Yorkshire hogs for more than 40 years. She sells breeding stock and semen at her rural Boone County operation, and owns Christian Genetic Services, a swine consulting business.

Christian has won numerous awards over the course of her career, including having the Premier Duroc Sire at the Iowa State Fair and top selling boars and gilts at the National Barrow Show.

She holds leadership positions in the Iowa Duroc Breeders Association and has held offices with the Iowa Pork Producers Association.

Christian is committed to setting a notable example of leadership and success in the production and promotion of the purebred swine industry. She was honored as the 2006 Master Seedstock Producer during the Iowa Pork Congress in Des Moines Jan. 24.
