The Iowa Pork Producers Association held an October Pork Month promotion yesterday at one of the Des Moines Metro’s newest supermarkets.
Fareway Stores officially opened its 115th facility in Johnston on Sept. 14.
IPPA staff grilled and offered samples of pork tenderloin and Fareway’s new skinless bratwursts at the new store from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Consumers received $5 pork discount coupons and meat thermometers and registered for a drawing for a $100 pork bundle, a gift card for purchases of various pork products at Fareway.

Iowa Pork will hold a similar promotion on Oct. 26 at the Hy-Vee Store on Fleur Drive in Des Moines.
