The Environmental Steward Award from the Iowa Pork Producers Association has been given annually to recognize those pig farmers who demonstrates the positive contributions the pork industry makes to the natural environment. Those who win the award not only are successful in raising pigs, but actively are working to make a difference with soil & water conservation, manure/nutrient management to improve soil condition, air quality, public relations, wildlife habitat, and environmental management innovations.
