The Benton/Tama Nutrient Reduction Demonstration Project, along with Iowa Soybean Association, will host a field day on June 8 about edge-of-field water quality practices.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at a saturated buffer site at 1282 57th St., Dysart, in Benton County. (See map below for directions and alternative address). This field day is free to attend and open to the public.
Keegan Kult, Iowa Soybean Association environmental scientist, will present information on saturated buffers and water quality.
The Benton/Tama Nutrient Reduction Demonstration Project is a three-year project that runs Dec. 31, 2016. This project is largely funded by the Iowa Water Quality Initiative and is an effort to educate farmers, landowners and the general public about the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy and to assist with implementation of these practices in fields.
Those interested in attending the field day are asked to RSVP to Shannon Mitchell at (641) 861-2280.
