There’s a Pig in my Classroom: A Virtual Field Trip
What: Iowa Pork Producers Association is teaming with the Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation to host a virtual tour of a pork-producing farm. Participants will learn about pigs, pork production, animal care, careers, and much more.
When: Thursday, April 26, 2022
Time: Two sessions (45 minutes each), at 10 a.m. CST and 1:30 p.m. CST
Who’s invited: Fourth-grade classes in Iowa
Cost: FREE
Lesson plans: Introductory lessons will be sent to teachers prior to the field trip, along with follow-up activities to support understanding after the event. Lessons support 21st Century skills, social studies requirements, reading for information, and other areas of Iowa’s Common Core.
