Iowa Pork Producers Association staff today delivered a grilled pork meal to firemen, emergency medical technicians and policemen for the city of Clive.
The first responders received 30 freshly grilled Pork Chops on a Stick™, potato salad, baked beans, potato chips, assorted cookies and lemonade in a show of appreciation for the service the various city departments provide to residents.
“We often have grillings and events that leave us with leftover pork and other food and we always try to put it to good use,” said IPPA CEO Pat McGonegle. “There’s no better way to show support for your community, whether it’s the food bank, homeless shelters or first responders.”
Assistant Chief and Fire Marshall Tony Collins and two of the department’s newest firefighters were on hand to accept the donation and were appreciative of IPPA’s generosity.
