Maple Bacon Donuts

Ingredients

  • 1 tube biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • vegetable oil
  • 2 c powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp maple extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 4 bacon strips, chopped
  1. Using a small round cookie cutter, cut the centers of the biscuits out.
  2. Add about 1 1/2 inches of vegetable oil in a skillet and heat to 375 F.
  3. Carefully add the donuts (and donut holes!) to the oil, frying until golden brown on both sides. This will take about 2 to 4 minutes on the first side and 2 minutes on the second side. Remove the donuts and place onto a plate with a paper towel to soak up the excess oil.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, maple extract and milk.
  5. Dip the donuts into the frosting one at a time and sprinkle with bacon pieces.
