Ground Pork Crust Pizza
Ingredients
· 1 pound ground pork
· ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
· 1 egg
· ¼ teaspoon salt
· 1/3 cup pizza sauce
· 2 ounces sliced pepperoni, divided
· ¼ cup diced red onion
· ¼ cup diced green bell pepper
· 6 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
· Grated parmesan cheese, fresh basil, and red pepper flakes for topping, optional
Directions
Preheat oven to 400F.
In a small bowl stir together the ground pork, parmesan cheese, egg, and salt.
Spread the mixture onto a rimmed sheet pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. You want the ground pork to be less than ¼ inch thick.
Bake for 15-17 minutes or until golden brown. You’ll notice that the pork will shrink into a smaller rectangle; this is expected.
Remove from the oven and let set for 15 minutes.
Gently dab the top of the “crust” with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
Spread the sauce on top followed by half of the pepperoni.
Sprinkle the cheese on top followed by the veggies and remaining pepperoni.
Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and beginning to brown.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
