Community

Doing more than just raising pigs.

When pig farmers aren’t in the barn caring for their animals, many can be found volunteering, supporting area youth and giving back to their communities.

Combatting Food Insecurity

Since 2023, Iowa pork producers have been fighting food insecurity through Pork in the Pantry. Pork in the Pantry offers funding for county pork producer organizations to purchase and donate pork to local food pantries.

Giving Back to our Communities

Available in towns and cities throughout the state, the Bacon a Difference program is our way of supporting emergency response units to keep our communities safe.

Fostering Friendship and Opportunity

Bacon Buddies® is a program designed to give individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (Buddies) the opportunity to take a pig into the show ring. Their mentors include 4-H and FFA youth who have volunteered to share the show ring experience right alongside them.
