Animal Care

It’s More Than a Job

Every day, Iowa’s hard-working pig farmers are driven by a strong sense of responsibility to the animals entrusted to their care – ensuring that pigs thrive, because it’s the right thing to do – and because farmers love what they do.
“Every pen, every pig, every day.”
— Dr. Anna Johnson
Animal Care is a Team Approach

Did you know pigs do not like weather extremes?

Pigs have a different respiratory system than animals like cows, making them more susceptible to airborne illnesses. To help ensure pigs stay happy, healthy and comfortable, they live in barns with temperature and humidity controls, filtered air and specialized feed.
