Schmidt is co-owner of a multi-generational farm that finishes 4,000 head per year in a farrow-to-finish operation. He also feeds 800 cattle and farms 2,500 acres of corn and soybeans. Tim studies at South Dakota State University and has a degree in Ag Business. He and his wife Mary live near Hawarden.
Tim has been involved as as the president of the Sioux County Pork Producers from 2005-21, and is currently on the IPPA Membership/Leadership Committee. He has served as a delegate to many Pork Forums, is a member of NPPC and completed the National Pork Board's Pork Leadership Academy in 2005-06. Tim is also a member of NCBA and the Iowa Cattlemen's Association.
